GIMBEL HOSE

 

The Gimbel hose design has greater flexibility which allows a tighter bend radius while still being virtually kink and distortion resistant.

What is a Gimbel Hose?

  • Gimbel hose is a custom made hose using steel rings for reinforcement instead of a continuous wire.

Why use a Gimbel Hose?

  • Individual steel ring reinforcement allows extreme flexibility.
  • Gimbel hose design allows a 50% or more better bend radius than a conventional hose design.
  • Gimbel hose can be used in shorter lengths and still obtain a tight bend radius.
  • Gimbel ring construction allows large diameter hose to reach full vacuum.
  • Kink and distortion resistant.
  • Gimbel design is similar to an accordian and allows some inward flexing.
Size Range: Up to 36” inside diameter
Recommended End Fittings: Modified BIRF, Rubber Lined, Roto-lok, & Duck & Rubber.
Note: Recommended end fittings allow a full flow, unrestricted transition area.

 

EWC436 HOSE
16” Spiral Hose with 56” Tested Bed Radius

Titan’s Custom Made Hose designers have developed a proprietary modified double spiral wire, corrugated construction that offers the bend radius normally achieved through a Gimbel design.

An example of the superior flexibility is a 16” I.D. hose in a lightweight construction which can achieve a 56” bend radius (a 90° bend). This new design allows Titan to match or surpass other manufactures’ implied or stated bend radius. A Gimbel design is still recommended for abrasive applications with higher working pressures and applications requiring a tighter bend radius.

Design Characteristics:

  • Light to non-abrasive applications.
  • Working pressure under 100 psi.
  • Available in most compounds and tire cords.
  • Used primarily with soft cuff ends (based on applications).

POLETHYLENE BUTT, SOCKET AND SIDEWALL FUSION CREATES A JOINING SYSTEM STRONGER THAN THE PIPE ITSELF MAKING A LEAKPROOF, FULLY RESISTRAINED JOINT.
